While touring Nyatike in Migori County opposition leader Raila Odinga took a swipe at President Ruto’s disturbing tendency for frequent foreign travel.
The Azimio leader who was on an Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party recruitment exercise also criticized local leaders for focusing on the 2027 Election politics rather than delivering services to the electorate.
Dr. Ruto’s frequent foreign trips alongside large delegations has been a matter of criticism on social media owing to the economic pressures it exerts on the Exchequer.
However, global climate change organisations have feted Dr. Ruto as a conscientious advocate of climate change policies in Africa.
Kenya’s neighbor to the south Tanzania has been pointedly critical of Dr Ruto’s camaraderie with the west with President Samia Suluhu Hassan saying: “it’s time for Africa to come up with homegrown solutions to the climate problem.”
Meanwhile Raila Odinga tickled the Migori crowd by calling president Ruto an important tourist to Kenya.
“Ruto is unable to deliver his promises and shouldn’t be depended on. He only comes home, Kenya to change clothes and board another plane”, Raila said.
