A 36-year-old man in Murang’a was attacked and killed by irate villagers after it emerged he had beheaded his mother following an argument over food.
Patrick Irungu attacked his 68-year-old mother Magdalena Wangeci on Sunday afternoon at Gaturo village, Murang’a County.
According to reports from the scene of crime an argument which turned tragic ensued over food. Patrick was served a plate of bananas by his mother instead of a plate of Ugali. Neighbors heard loud altercations over the matter before Irungu who is known as a substance abuse addict turned on the mother and chopped off her head using a machete.
