Migwena grounds which play host to cultural events it’s historically known since it’s the place where the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga met his wife Mary Odima.

“We have been holding the event yearly with our fishermen but would want to expand it this year that’s why we are inviting you,” said Orengo adding that winners will be rewarded handsomely.

Raila was equally impressed by the boat racing and swimming event saying he gets encouraged by the way they conduct their cultures.

“Am happy to watch the boat race and swimming event at Marenga. The young lady displayed swimming skills, even men including the white could not defeat her so have gave winners Sh 20000 to share.

On Christmas, Raila regretted that Kenyans were not in a celebratory mood going by the hard economic times that have engulfed the Country.

Raila said the country’s high cost of living has seen most families abandoning celebrations to concentrate on school matters

“Christmas is no longer a priority to many families for they don’t have money to celebrate that’s why I will not hang political boots yet but will engage the ruling government until it’s sorted out.

“High cost of living was among four issues that formed part of the discussion in the by-partisan talks but the committees omitted it and it’s a weapon that will be used to put pressure on the government.

However, the political supremacy played out during the boat racing event in Budalangi and the governor Paul Otuoma who came early together with his children was denied a chance by Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala.

Wanjala defied protocol and invited Raila to address the Crowd and as Raila was making a speech, The MP and Governor were seen exchanging bitter words.

Raila then invited Orengo who delivered a speech and handed it over to George Wajakoyah who again declined to make a speech.
