Siaya Institute of Technology (SIT) is a Public TVET Institution operating under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013 in the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training, Ministry of Education, Kenya.

It is situated in Siaya Town along the Siaya – Rang’ala Road. Applications are invited from qualified persons for the positions shown below:

Duties and responsibilities.

Trainers.
i. Training in specific areas of specialization.
ii. Developing of Technical training materials.
iii. Supervision trainees on attachment.
iv. Instructing, guiding and evaluation trainees in practical exercises.
v. Reporting progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
vi. Participating in development of curriculum and training programmes.
vii. Undertaking research in respective training area.

Technicians.
i. Issue the trainees with the required training resources during practicals to ensure that the
practical trainings run smoothly
ii. Supervise the trainees while in the workshop/laboratory to ensure that all the health and safety
procedures are observed while in the workshop/laboratory
iii. Clean the workshop and equipment in the workshop/laboratory to ensure conducive working
environment
iv. Maintain the security of equipment and materials in the workshop/laboratory by ensuring the
workshop is opened and locked at appropriate times

Eligibility Criteria.
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen.
ii. Background training in Competency Based Education (CBET)
iii. Pedagogy in Education TVETA registration and registration with relevant professional
bodies where applicable is an added advantage.
