A club statement read: “Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the death of Conor Bradley’s father, Joe, today.

“The thoughts of everybody at the club are with Conor and all of the Bradley family at this very difficult and sad time.

“On behalf of Conor, LFC strongly urges that the family’s privacy is fully respected at this time.”

Tributes flooded in, with one saying: “Rest in peace.”

Another added: “Condolences and courage to Conor Bradley after the death of his father. At such a dreadful time, hopefully it’s a comfort that he got to see Conor live out his dream at Anfield.”

A third commented: “Our heart goes out to him and his family.”

The sad news comes just three days after Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Chelsea.

Bradley put in a man of the match performance, scoring his first senior goal for the club.

The right-back finished brilliantly as he doubled the Reds’ lead after 39 minutes.

His goal came either side of assists for Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Bradley is enjoying a breakout season at Anfield, playing nine times in all competitions this season.

His first senior appearance came in the Carabao Cup against Norwich in September 2021.

The Northern Ireland international impressed last term on loan at League One side Bolton, winning their Player of the Year award.

Since then, Jurgen Klopp has sung his praises, saying: “What a wonderful kid he is.

“A few weeks ago when I was on holiday a few Bolton fans asked if they could have Bradley back but it’s too late.”
