Spread the love

While the world marked this year’s Valentine’s Day with chocolate and flowers, in one corner of Africa a celebrated lawyer and aspirant for Kisumu County senatorial seat Fred Odumo Nying’uro was making a profound impact on the lives of kindergarten pupils.

The Nairobi lawyer donated four (4) bags of beans to support the feeding program for Early Childhood Development Education (ECD) class at Masara Primary School. The school, located in Ombeyi Ward of Muhoroni sub-County has been facing challenges caused by perennial flash flooding in Kano plains.

This was but a single gesture of goodwill and genuine concern for the welfare of children as shown by Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro who will be gunning for the Kisumu Senatorial seat come the 2027 Elections.

Only last weekend Wakili joined the faithful at Ombeyi Catholic Church where he made the injunction to serve the people without favour or discrimination. During the church service, Wakili exemplified humility when he went on his knees and asked for the invocation of blessings by the church elders.

In his Valentine’s message, Wakili urged Kenyans to value happiness above temporal gifts and focus on cherishing themselves.

“Some of you will just be fine without dates, no flowers, no chocolates, no promise ring, no Valentine’s card, no love letter, no gifts, no sweet message, and no surprises for this Valentine’s Day. As long as you have yourself, be happy. You are the most expensive thing that no one can afford!”

The pupils at Masara Primary School seemed to understand this message perfectly well as they applauded and burst into song in squeaky, happy, innocent voices wishing Wakili a long life and success in his endeavours to elevate fellow mankind.

Touched by their innocence Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro joined in the singing and indeed it was one Valentine’s Day that will long remain in the memories of all present.
