Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro on Tuesday sought the wisdom of elders and opinion leaders from the Sidho sub-Clan in Muhoroni sub-County.
For those who do not know the rich history of the Sidho sub-Clan a preview is sufficient. The clan is the most powerful subgrouping among the Kano people. Initially they occupied the rich Nandi Hills escarpment before tribal wars between the Kiseru Luo and Kipsigis drove the clan to the present-day Kano plains.
That prominent legendary son of Ramogi, Luanda Magere was involved in these wars.
Other sub-Clans of the Kano are Kakola, Kamagaga, Kochogo Kolwa, Kabonyo, Kobura and Kanyagwal. Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro has promised to have a sit down with these and all the other clans in Kisumu County as a whole not because he pursues a tribal agenda but because after listening to women and youth, it’s now time to incorporate the wisdom of elders and opinion leaders.
