Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla is Dead

The Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla has died.

An officer with a distinguished career, Ogolla rose up the ranks to be commissioned general by former president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.

Despite the loaded political implications President Dr William Samoei Ruto placed general Francis Ogolla in charge of the Kenyan defence forces, a first for someone from the shores of Lake Victoria.

General Francis Ogolla comes from Siaya County.
