In collaboration with the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) program, the Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) is set to conduct a series of activities in Siaya County on 3rd and 4th March 2025.

These activities aim to strengthen governance, transparency, and climate action initiatives at the county level.

Led by the Chairperson, Mr. Charles Dulo, the delegation held a meeting with Governor James Orengo that will focus on fostering collaborative efforts to address governance and climate change challenges, as well as resolving any pending complaints lodged against the institutions with the Commission.

The Commission will also hold technical support meetings with various county teams. These meetings will include backstopping the County Climate Change Units to resolve complex complaints, improve compliance in reporting, and analyze data trends to enhance the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM).

On 4th March 2025, the Commission will provide technical assistance to teams responsible for proactively disclosing FLLoCA-related information, ensuring greater transparency and accountability.

Concurrently, the Commission will support county teams in drafting and developing a County Grievance Redress Policy to improve public service delivery. Additionally, the Commission will assist in formulating Access to Information Laws to promote citizen engagement and accountability.

In attendance were County Secretary Joseph Ogutu, CECM for Water, Irrigation, Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resource Prof. Jacqueline Oduol, CECM for Health Dr. Martin K’onyango, CECM for Education Dr. Edgar Otumba, CECM for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development Maurice Mc’Orege, CECM for Tourism, Culture, Sports and Arts Angeline Atieno.
