Incoming Kisumu Senator Fred Odumo Nying’uro on Saturday lauded the progress made by Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo in implementing his development agenda.

While addressing members of the Kisumu County Greater Siaya Association who held their annual end-year event at the Kisumu Social Hall Mr. Nying’uro praised the Nyalore administration for living up to its manifesto by empowering youth and women with skills and not handouts.

The senior lawyer pledged to work with all residents of Kisumu County irrespective of whether they were from the diaspora or marginalized groups. During the impromptu fundraiser Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro donated KES 20,000 and made a pledge to support the association with a 100-seater tent.

Earlier on Mr. Nying’uro urged residents of Sango Rota in Nyakach Constituency to embrace education as a tool for self-advancement.

He was speaking at a fundraiser organized by Kamuga Welfare Association in aid of an education kitty for needy students in Nyakach West sub-County where he donated KES 30,000.

“Education is an equaliser irrespective of one’s socioeconomic background and the single most important heritage you can give your children. I am a living testimony of the powerful transformation investing in education brings,” said Mr. Nying’uro.

He promised to stand with the needy students from that area through his education scholarship program “Leave No Child Out” that continues to enable youngsters in Kisumu County to achieve their dreams and ambitions in life.

Later in the day Wakili joined the family of the late former Ministry of Interior employee Mark Ochieng who was recently swept away by floods in Awasi. Besides condoling with the firstborn son and the mother of the deceased, Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro gave out a donation of KES 15,000 to help defray burial costs.

Already Mr Nying’uro who is the designate Senator (as the incumbent Professor Tom Ojienda is set to vie for Governor) is performing his official roles by traversing Kisumu County and being there for the people in the true spirit of devolved governance.
