To the chagrin of many critics Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo has kept his word. On Monday as he addressed a gathering in Gem Constituency infront of the Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, Governor Orengo made an undertaking that Siaya County government employees will receive their salaries by Wednesday December 27, 2023.
Many considered this a political ploy and even chided the governor for promising Wednesday when Wednesday never comes.
“This Christmas is different,” said a security officer at the Executive headquarters, adding “we now have something to smile about. And our children will join school promptly on opening day.”
ADVERTISEMENTAnother middle cadre employee who spoke to DalanewsKe on condition of anonymity said: “Kitu Moto is hot. Very hot!”, meaning that all entertainment joints frequented by county employees were packed.
