Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro on Sunday met Kano-Kochogo Youth Group which has a membership of 200.
The group is mainly involved in horticulture with other subsidiary agricultural interests.
Wakili donated a sum of KES 60,000 for the purchase of seedings, water pump and hosepipe.
Present during the meeting was Kochogo Welfare Chairperson Mr. Lawi Obat. Also present were Mr. Walter Oron and Mr Nickson Abwao.
After he had challenged the youth to find means of value addition for their farm produce, Wakili listened attentively to their challenges in procuring a favourable market.
ADVERTISEMENT“The global market is open but first you must look at your small agricultural activities as a hortipreneur; that is someone capable of transforming horticulture into an enterprise,” said Wakili.
Wakili promised to liaise with friends to see if their products can secure a market beyond Kisumu County.
