Kisumu County Senatorial aspirant Fred Odumo Nying’uro has criticized churches in Luo Nyanza for applying double standards when dealing with politicians from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party. The city lawyer wondered why politicians from ODM are barred from addressing congregants in certain churches in the region particularly during this countrywide crisis brought about by rejecting Finance Bill 2024.

“It’s interesting to note that the same politicians are always invited by the church in times of need but somehow lack credibility when it comes to addressing misapplication of laws touching on the church followers,” said the senior lawyer who is aspiring for the seat of Kisumu Senator.

Mr. Nying’uro was speaking at celebrations marking the 67th Anniversary of the Church of Christ in Africa (CCA Hera). The event was attended by senior cleric in the church hierarchy and several politicians.

During the event Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro donated a truck-full of bottled mineral water besides giving out a bull to be slaughtered for the congregants.

Wakili has spoken out against the crafters of the Finance Bill 2024 saying they were myopic and lacked the capacity to draft a citizen-oriented document.

Fred Odumo Nying’uro has bitterly spoken out against the abduction by police of targeted members of Gen Z on Monday. Saying the protests are the outcome of an idea whose time has come the lawyer stated that each individual arrest could give rise to a thousand new supporters of the Gen Z movement.

“The youth reminds one of events which took place during another era at the Chinese Tiananmen Square. They are bold, resourceful and ready to put their lives down in order to Liberate this country.”

Meanwhile, an Anglican priest in Nyahururu yesterday shocked the nation by acknowledging that the clerics have let down the country by going to bed with the Kenya Kwanza administration. The priest made the scathing statement at a function attended by President Dr William Samoei and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
