In one episode of the Mithika Linturi drama series the CS wanders into a room at a hotel and is about to have carnal knowledge of the occupant in the bed before the husband walks in and he wakes up from sleepwalking.

In yet another episode a foreign intelligence agency is hunting for the CS and there’s a high-speed car chase before he is arrested and goes off the grid for hours. Other episodes are similarly full of high-octane action such as when it is revealed that he awarded a huge tender to his estranged wife Marianne Kaitany and the bit about the steamy affair that begun at the offices of then Deputy President Dr William Samoei Ruto.

You can download the whole series free-of-charge anywhere on the internet.

At about 6:00 pm on Monday evening, however, outside Parliament buildings the drama took a sad turn. Bumula MP Jack Nelson Wamboka Wanami who sponsored the motion to have Linturi impeached paraded an MP who was living evidence that money had been poured to influence the decision of the 11 member Waqo-led special committee.

The MP, Celestine Omanyo, had been offered KES 5,000,000 as bribe (which she turned down) in order to buy her silence after Kenyans had been sold soil for fertilizer.

Kenyan farmers were not only scammed of their hard-earned money in terms of billions but the nation faces imminent hunger as the fertilizer used for planting in the present season is all dust.

Parliament in its plenary seating found the Agriculture CS culpable and recommended his ouster. Standing Orders of the House, however, requires a special committee be constituted to ratify the decision.

The president of the republic of Kenya did not interfere as one of his appointees was grilled and prepared for impeachment. His silence was construed as consent to the law taking its natural course.

The final episode of this drama should have ended that Mithika Linturi was impeached and faded off into oblivion forever after.

If he was decent at all Mr Linturi would have resigned by now, seeing parliament has no confidence in his tenure.

In the court of public opinion the seven members of the select committee who gave Linturi a new lease of life, blatantly subverted justice.

These are the Kenya Kwanza MPs that voted to save CS Mithika Linturi.

1. Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai

2. Marsabit MP Naomi Waqo

3. Ainamoi MP Samwel Chepkonga

4. Tharaka MP George Murugara

5. Malava MP Malulu Injendi

6. Matuga MP Kassim Tandaza

7. Kirinyaga MP Jane Maina

As the Leader of Minority aptly put it these legislators have a date with destiny – and that’s not our problem.

Our problem is what the president is going to do, now that parliament is compromised over the fake fertilizer scandal.

Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwale joins us in making this impassioned plea to the Head of State.

“The fulcrum of a special parliamentary committee is its chairman.

Hon Waqo, chair of the select committee on dismissal of Mithika Linturi!
The mercurial & incomparable late Hon Dr. Bonaya Godana, who hailed from her community, might surely have turned in his grave!
I firmly believe that on this one, the president will use his [emmence] constitutional powers and make the hard decision to keep his course on the fight against corruption by standing with the farmers who were scammed.”

Mr. President save Kenyans from this disgraceful horror series – remove Mithika Linturi from your cabinet, please.
